Cheesy Mustard and Mushroom Toasts
Quick and easy, these Cheesy Mustard and Mushroom Toasts are made with sautéed mushrooms with Maille Old Style Mustard, fresh thyme and melted swiss cheese. Hearty, savory and vegetarian.
Sauteed Mushrooms and Toast Ingredients
- 1 lb baby bella mushrooms/cremini mushrooms -sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- pinch salt
- pinch black pepper
- 1 clove garlic
- 8 slices sour dough bread -or your fave
How to Cook Mushrooms
- In a large cast iron pan on medium heat add half of olive oil (1.5 tsp) and half of mushrooms (work in batches so pan is not overcrowded). Cook 5 minutes, undisturbed. Stir and cook another 3-5 minutes. Remove mushrooms from pan and continue with second batch with remaining olive oil and mushrooms.
- Add all mushrooms back to pan, stir in butter and a pinch of salt and pepper.
